Nigeria: U.S. strikes “terrorist scum”

26.12.2025 Brussels the U.S. military has launched strikes against the Islamic State (IS) linked groups in north-western Nigeria, where they have sought to establish a stronghold.

The U.S. President Donald Trump said the Christmas Day strikes were “powerful and deadly” and labelled the group “terrorist scum”, explaining it had been “targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians”.

Nigerian Foreign Minister Yusuf Maitama Tuggar said it was a “joint operation” and had “nothing to do with a particular religion”.
