Burkina-Faco: EU condemns Karma massacre

Brussels 27.04.2023 “The European Union strongly condemns the horrific massacre that took place in the village of Karma, Yatenga province, on 20 April, which reportedly left dozens of civilian victims, including women and children” reads the statement of the press-person of the European External Action Service.

“The European Union recalls that the murder of civilians can constitute a war crime, and calls for an impartial and rigorous investigation to be carried out to identify, try and condemn the culprits.

“The security of the population and respect for human rights and international humanitarian law must remain at the heart of the concerns of the transitional authorities, particularly when it comes to the defense and security forces, which must be exemplary towards the population, without distinction”.
