Brussels 09.12.2022 “The European Union associates itself with the press releases of the African Union and the Secretary-General of the United Nations following the resurgence of violence in eastern DRC. It affirms its solidarity with the thousands of civilians once again hard hit by this violence” the European Union External Action Service spokesperson statement reads.

“The European Union calls for the immediate cessation of hostilities, the withdrawal of M23 from occupied areas and the disarmament of all armed groups. The effective implementation of the political commitments made in particular within the framework of the Luanda and Nairobi processes is the only possible way”.

“The EU recalls its press release of July 4 and stands ready to support ongoing efforts”.
