Devastation in Darfour

The United Nations confirmed the devastation in Darfur region, Sudan, caused by eruption of violence/ The fighters have burnt down more than 100 houses in Deleij village  earlier this week, and left 17 people dead. (Image above: illustration).

The United Nations-African Union Mission in Darfur also said 15 people were injured and the damages”occurred during heated clashes between nomads and residents apparently angered by the increase in commodity prices at the local market”.

Opposition medics said “Janjaweed militias” fired live ammunition at civilians at a market in Deleij, Central Darfur, killing 11  and wounding 20 people.
