Brussels 05.09.2025 The European Union’s newly appointed Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Somalia, Francesca Di Mauro, today presented her credentials to H.E. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud at Villa Somalia, the presidential palace in Mogadishu.
Today, the EU Council approved the new Ambassador to somalia will be Francesca Di Mauro—She is a veteran EU diplomat with over 20 years experience in top jobs.
Served in in Zambia, Mozambique.

This formal presentation marks the official start of Ambassador Di Mauro’s mandate, during which she will work to further strengthen the EU’s engagement and its longstanding partnership with the Federal Republic of Somalia and the Somali people.
